Alice Hanel
Alice is a Frederick County Native that began her violin training with Doris Gazda, a
former president of the American Strings Teachers Association (ASTA).  Alice
received her Bachelor of Music in Viola Performance from the Eastman School of
Music at the University of Rochester, NY where she studied with George Taylor and
John Graham.  She is also a graduate of the Peabody Conservatory at John Hopkins
University and holds her Master of Music in Viola Performance where she studied
with Victioria Chiang.  Alice has also studied with Heidi Castlemen, Dan Foster, and
Richard Field.  Alice has attended international festivals such as Aspen Music
Festival, Meadowmount School of Music, Bowdoin International Music Festival, and
the National Orchestra Institute.  She has performed with the Alexandria and the
Fairfax Symphony Orchestra.  Alice currently performs with the Maryland
Symphony and is the Principal 2nd Violinist of the Frederick Orchestra.
